Here in the year 6 classroom we are writers, mathematicians, artists, scientists, engineers, designers, performers and much more. Autumn Term 1: Exploring the Archives

Hello and welcome to your first term in year six! I am so excited to be introducing our themes of learning for this term and to hear all about your summer holiday adventures. For our main topic, we have a historical focus and will be delving deep into how different archives, reports and documents from the past can help us historians paint a picture of how people lived in different eras. We will be following the stories of individuals across decades using census records and even, with the help of the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service, looking at records from our local history in Flyford Flavell! Our science learning will be classifying animals, plants and microorganisms, which will include looking at the important works of Carl Linnaeus. 

P.E is on Mondays and Thursdays this year. 

Topic homework will be launched after the half-term break and will be available below.
