In Year 3/4, we are curious, responsible and motivated learners. We seek to develop our independence and are always determined to work to the best of our ability. We show kindness and respect to our peers and friends as we support each other in our learning journeys. We are developing our learning powers and honing the ability to reflect and persevere in all that we do.
Our Class Teacher is Mrs Thorneywork.
Our Learning Assistants are Mrs Lightfoot, Mrs Munday and Mrs Dunne.
Welcome to Spring 2! As the days grow longer and the sunshine begins to warm the air, we step into an exciting new half-term full of opportunities to grow and flourish—just like the first signs of spring emerging around us!
In Maths, our focus will be solely on fractions, building on the children's existing knowledge of halves, quarters and thirds. We will begin by exploring denominators and comparing unit fractions before introducing numerators and the concept of a whole. As we progress, children will place fractions on a number line, compare and order non-unit fractions, and identify equivalent fractions. Finally, we will extend learning by counting beyond 1 and partitioning mixed numbers, building a strong foundation for working with fractions in different contexts.
Our English texts are: The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig and The Day the Crayons Quit. Our writing opportunities this term will be to write a section of a story and to write a persuasive speech.
