In Year 5, we are continuing to grow as independent learners, using our learning powers to strengthen and expand our skills. We will be exploring a broad and exciting curriculum, delivered through a variety of approaches and experiences designed to make learning engaging and meaningful.
Our class teacher is Mr. Kearns, supported by our wonderful learning assistants, Mrs. Rea and Mrs. Wright. Be sure to check this page regularly for the latest news and updates about our learning journey!
This half-term, our learning will take us around the globe as we explore some of the world’s most fascinating deserts. In Geography, we will investigate what makes these unique environments so special, discovering how plants, animals, and people adapt to life in some of the harshest conditions on Earth.
In Science, we will be investigating reversible and irreversible changes, carrying out practical enquiries to observe how materials can change and whether those changes can be undone.
Our English lessons will transport us into the world of William Shakespeare, where we will explore some of the strong and memorable female characters featured in his plays. Through reading, discussion, and writing, we will develop our understanding of characterisation and Shakespeare’s lasting influence on literature.
We are looking forward to another exciting half-term filled with discovery, creativity, and opportunities to deepen our learning across the curriculum.
