In Year 5, we are continuing to grow as independent learners, using our learning powers to strengthen and expand our skills. We will be exploring a broad and exciting curriculum, delivered through a variety of approaches and experiences designed to make learning engaging and meaningful.
Our class teacher is Mr. Kearns, supported by our wonderful learning assistants, Mrs. Rea and Mrs. Wright. Be sure to check this page regularly for the latest news and updates about our learning journey!
This half-term, our learning will take us beneath the waves as we explore the world’s oceans and discover the vital impact they have on the world around us. We will be learning about marine environments, climate, and the important role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. This topic will also link to an exciting educational fieldwork trip at the start of next term, where we will build on our classroom learning through real-world experiences.
In Science, we will be studying animals, including humans, developing our understanding of life processes and how living things survive and thrive. Our English lessons will focus on the early life of Malala Yousafzai, where we will explore her childhood and use this learning to write an engaging autobiography based on her life.
Finally, we will be preparing to perform at our special Easter service, a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate as a school community.
