Welcome to Year 3/4! 

In Year 3/4, we are curious, responsible and motivated learners. We seek to develop our independence and are always determined to work to the best of our ability. We show kindness and respect to our peers and friends as we support each other in our learning journeys. We are developing our learning powers and honing the ability to reflect and persevere in all that we do.

Summer 1

As the days get longer and the weather begins to warm up, we're excited to welcome you back for the Summer 1 term. With summer just around the corner, it's a lovely time of year for learning, playing, and making the most of the opportunities to be outside. We’re looking forward to all the energy and enthusiasm this term brings as we head towards the final stretch of the school year!

In Maths, our focus will be on fractions, time and decimals. Building on the children's existing knowledge of fractions, the children will be adding and subtracting fractions. We will then tell the time using an analogue and a digital clock and converting the time between the two clock forms. Finally, the decimals unit will be started at the end of this term, identifying tenths and hundredths as a fraction, on a place value chart and on a number line.

Our English texts are: Alba the 100-Year-Old Fish, Fantastically Great Women who Saved the Planet and A Planet Full of Plastic. There will be many independent writing opportunities. The final piece will be an information board for an exhibit in an aquarium.
