Year 1/2
Welcome!
A very warm welcome to our Year 1 and 2 class! We have a classroom filled with fun, creative learning and kindness. Our two class teachers are Mr Jones and Mrs Voce, while we also welcome Miss Pyne in as our fantastic learning assistant. We will also be regularly joined by many other members of our team of learning assistants.
Autumn 1
In this half term, we will be exploring the concept of history, discussing what exactly history is, why it is so important and how we can find out more about it.
Our English will maintain a strong focus on independent sentence writing based off a variety of key texts, with various writing techniques being introduced throughout, such as descriptive writing and writing to inform. Our key texts this half term will be 'Lila and the Secret of Rain' and 'Stuck!'.
Our maths lessons will revolve around place value. Year 1s will build their knowledge of numbers up to 10, while Year 2s will use their place value knowledge from last year as a base to further their learning.
